The Institute For Leadership Development
The Institute for Leadership Development
Cornita "Nita" Winston
To become the premier Institute for Leadership Development in our region where tomorrow's leaders are developed today and are equipped and released for works of service wherever God assigns them.
To provide an avenue for personal growth and development for established leaders and those who are new to leadership, so that they may become deeply rooted and grounded in the Word of God, capable of leading in all aspects of life, and with the goal of being ready and available to serve as leaders in their family, church and community.
Leading with Integrity (Job 2:3)
Obedient to God's Word (John 8:31)
Submitted to the Lordship of Christ (Luke 14:27)
Lead by Our Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20)
Leaders Committed to Developing and Mentoring New Leaders (John 15:8)
21 As for all these other duties you have taken on, choose competent leaders who fear God, love truth, despise dishonesty, and won't take bribes. After you divide and subdivide all the people into various groups of a thousand, hundred, fifty, and ten, put the men of integrity you selected in charge over the various groups. Exodus 18:21The Voice (VOICE)

- All classes are available for church members as well as community members who desire to embark on systematic Christ-cantered studies.
- Classes are offered throughout the year through the published schedule.
OUR LEADERSHIP MANDATE
Developing tomorrow's leaders today requires a unique and specific set of skills that must be nurtured in the individual leader. The modern predicament facing church and community leadership efforts seems at odds with morality and integrity. The Institute seeks to bridge the gap through a faith-based strategy that sees leadership not simply as something we do, rather, it becomes who we are at home, at work, in church and in community.
As anyone who has tried to exercise their way back to health and fitness knows, the optimal course is to maintain health, fitness, and vitality rather than have to restore it. That is also true of a leader. At The Institute, a series of courses and leadership experiences will be designed with the student leader in mind. Servant leadership will undergird your journey in leadership development. The goal is to help each leader lead from a faith-based foundation that seeks first to serve and then to inspire others to serve.
Whether you are an established leader or new to a leadership position, you will be challenged to rethink your role as a church leader and to begin seeing yourself as a servant leader in the church and broader community. The curriculum is designed to challenge you, stretch you, and equip you to do the work of ministry wherever God assigns you.
There are two tracks for leadership development; the Church Leadership Track and the Community Leadership Track. The first is designed to develop a ready pool of leaders in the church. The second is designed to identify, encourage and equip leaders for service in their community. Both tracks will require students to take electives from the other track.
