Our Covenant Life Commitment

Commitment

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:  As a member of New Covenant Community Church and its cooperative ministries, I recognize God's call to live a covenant life and to use my gifts to help edify the body of Christ. I understand that the focus of our Ministry is not on the individual, but Christ who calls us to worship the Father in Spirit and in truth. Understanding the importance of spiritual maturity, I hereby commit to endeavor to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace so that nothing I say or do distracts attention from the ministry of NCCC as we serve God.

PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY:  I understand that membership responsibilities are a vital part of the ministry of NCCC. I agree to put God first in all I do as a member and that I will submit to the leadership that is over the church. I further agree to prepare myself spiritually for ministry assignments that I am entrusted with. If at any time I become an offense to the ministry and the good name of this church, I agree to step down until such time as the Spirit of reconciliation has been restored in me.

ESSENTIAL MEMBERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

Equipping

As a member, I covenant to:

•             Prepare myself spiritually to participate in ministry through regular prayer and meditation.

•             Attend leadership training classes and Bible study, and give attention to being equipped                     to serve others into the presence of God.

•             Submit to the leadership authority that God has placed over the church and its ministries.

•             Seek God's presence prior to participating in ministry so that nothing I say or do blocks the

will of the Lord and the move of His Spirit.

•             To be in place and ready for each meeting.

•             Participate in support of the overall ministry of NCCC and our cooperative ministries.

Encouraging

As a member, I covenant to:

•             Assist in the development of the overall ministry of NCCC.

•             Respect and encourage other leaders and members in the development of their gifts.

•             Encourage other gifted members to pursue leadership opportunities.

•             Provide whatever assistance I can to help the NCCC accomplish its mission, vision and goals.

Ministering

As a member, I covenant to:

•             Remember that God is as concerned about my attitude and spiritual growth as He is about my               gifts. Therefore, as I participate in ministry I will worship the Lord in all that I say and do.

Communicating

As a member, I covenant to do the following:

•             To notify ministry leaders when I am unable to attend a meeting in a timely manner.

•             Provide ministry reports to the leadership as required.

•             When I can no longer abide by this covenant, I agree to withdraw from this ministry position.

Covenant Vow

When you make a vow to the Lord your God, be prompt in doing whatever you promised him. For the Lord your God demands that you promptly fulfill all your vows. If you don't, you will be guilty of sin. However, it is not a sin to refrain from making a vow. But once you have voluntarily made a vow, be careful to do as you have said, for you have made a vow to the Lord your God." Deuteronomy 23:21-23 NLT

All of the above, I covenant to do as God grants me favor and strength to serve Him in this ministry.
